Suomi Weiss (White)
A Scandinavian masterpiece
Suomi Weiss (White) by Rosenthal is one of the most successful series in the Rosenthal studio-line. Since the service shape was introduced in 1976, it has inspired porcelain lovers around the world.
The pebbles washed round by the water on the coast of his homeland inspired Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva to create the simple yet powerful, organic shape with dynamic curves and arches. Particularly exciting is the contrast between the white porcelain and the matte steel bracket in the pitcher, gravy boat, and tureen.
The multiple award-winning form was added to the permanent collection of the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris in 1992.
